What Anvil is

Anvil is a quiz app built around spaced repetition. Pick a topic, work through a heat of questions, and answer each one three times in a row before it counts as mastered. Miss a question and that item comes back around instead of getting marked done and forgotten.

Why it works this way

Most quiz apps treat every question the same: answer once, move on. Anvil tracks how consistently you get each item right and keeps weaker ones in rotation longer, which is closer to how memory actually forms than a single pass through a deck of cards.

What you can do without an account

You can browse topics and see what's available before signing up. Creating an account lets you save progress, build streaks, and unlock features like creating your own topics and tracking mastery over time.

Where the content comes from

Some topics are built into the app; others are created by users and reviewed before they go live. If you want a topic that doesn't exist yet, you can build it yourself once you have an account.
